How we look after your details

The short version: we keep what you send us so we can answer you. We never sell it, and we never pass it to a village or care home unless you ask us to.

Who is collecting your details

Villagewise is an independent project based in Auckland, New Zealand. The Privacy Act 2020 asks us to tell you who is collecting your details, why, and what you can do about it. This page does that. You can reach us at HelloVillageWise@gmail.com.

What we collect, and why

Where your details are kept

Requests and photos are stored on servers in Sydney, Australia, run by Vercel and Upstash. Email you send us sits in our mailbox. Only the people running Villagewise can see any of it.

Who we share it with

Nobody, unless you ask. We do not sell details, and we do not pass your details to a village or care home without asking you first. If you ask us to put you in touch with a village, we send that village only what it needs to answer you.

How long we keep it

Your rights

You can ask to see what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Email HelloVillageWise@gmail.com and we will answer within 20 working days, the time the Privacy Act allows. If you are unhappy with how we handled your details, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
